has anyone ever did a honeymoon bridal registry?

Has anyone ever used honeymoonwishes.com or a similar site? Did you like using them? Did you get the money fast and before your honeymoon?

Also, though you are registering for things such as a hotel room upgrade or dinner for two... they arent giving you gift cards, but really a check (money) for using it on what you requested right?

We did....we used the one from weddingchannel.com for our Sandal's honyemoon.

It was great, we ended up getting close to $1K and it was so worth it! DH and I have been together for 10 years, so we did not need as much stuff on our regular registry.

The sent us American Express gift checks, which we then deposited into our account and then paid for our honeymoon.

i did!! we used honeymoon wishes and it was great! we got about $1700. we didnt go on our HM for a few weeks but the money was send via ACH so it was a direct debit into our account that took like 2 days so it wasnt an issue. i think you can do paypal too but then you are subject to paypal fees so thats why we went with ACH.

everything people buy you is actual money. no vouchers as far as i know. you can make up your own items and set the dollar amount for them, and you can edit the pre-set items also. and yes people do think they are buying you actual things for your honeymoon. people dont realize that you get cash out of it - even though they can find out pretty easily by reading the site. no one said anything to me that they realized but i wouldnt have minded if they did since i had other registry options if they wanted to buy something tangible.

one tip - only register for things that you actually want to and are able to do on your HM because if someone buys it for you - they will DEF want to know how it was. for example, we registered for this great volcano tour - however we didnt know that it was over 300 miles from our hotela nd we werent able to actually go do it. then we had to explain to relatives that we were able to use the money for soemthing else but it def took away some of the 'magic' of the gift for the giver. so keep that in mind.
