I can't get anymore time off to go there. They said I could mail it in. Has anyone done that & what is the turn around time?
ETA: What do I have to send besides the application and marriage certificate?

I think you can mail them a certified copy of the marriage certificate, but not a notarized copy. I believe you have to go to where you got your original and have them give you a copy.

I mailed mine in with the Original Marriage Certificate....Got It back in a few weeks. I was a little worried about sending it through the mail but I figured I am not the first one to do it....

MY sister did it...It's no different when you have to get a passport (you have to mail in an original birth certificate, bu you get it back with the passport). I know it's a little nervewracking, but my sister had hers back in a little over 2 weeks.

can you send your stuff to DMV as well. or do you have to wait on a riduclously long line?

I think you have to go to DMV. I went- they made me take a new picture and give them my license. They gave me a temporary license until the new one came with my new name and pic. So for 2 weeks I had no photo ID !!

They make you give them the license? I thought I would be able to keep it!
