Have I been asleep, OR

Have I been asleep, OR

Is there a whole lot more negativity now during wedding planning? Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought back in my wedding planning 'era' we were a lot more supportive and diplomatic about the things we didn't like. And, perhaps we were more considerate of other people's feelings, including our wedding guests?

It seems like there's SO MUCH more negativity with wedding planning now.

I don't know if there's more negativity, or if it's just looking at the whole wedding planning process from a different perspective.

I also think that negativity seems to come in cycles, switching with cycles of positivity....

It also seems that the trend is also moving more towards honesty.

When I first joined two years ago, people were'nt honest with each other, just diplomatic. I think now posts tell the truth even if it isn't so nice!

I agree. When I joined people sometimes posted IMO really weird ideas or things that I personally didn't think looked that nice...
and everyone would go on and on and on about how great it was how nice it was etc.
I actually wasnt like that and got into a few 'Arguments' b/c people didn't like that I was being honest.

I think alot more girls are honest with eachother!!! I rather have someone tell me the truth then sugar coat it anyday!!

I do agree that if we shouldn't lie to other brides.

But, it does make be feel very sad when I see things written that are just rude.

There is a difference between saying 'that's not my style' or ' I don't like that' versus 'that's ugly' or 'why would you even think about using that'

have to say i disagree...i think there are more people 'sugar-coating things' than being honest.

But no i really haven't seen increased negativity

I personally think that a lot of people give the answrs they 'think' they are supposed to give and not the honest truth. I think that's hurtful to someone who is usually already feeling bad and now is being made to feel worse.

I agree. You can be honest and not be rude.
