She b*tches me out last week for needing to take a friday off for doc appointments BECAUSE I STILL have a snsus infection(after 3 weeks)!!!! which doesnt get better because I CANT TAKE TIME OFF!!! She said I need to give her a week advance warning. Ok fine. Noted.
Yesterday as she is WALKING OUT she says 'Im not here tomorrow.' Im liek What? She says 'Its in your book.... She KNOWS I don't check the appointment book for the next day till the END of the previous day because who would? If the officers are out who cares-doesn't effect me and I assumed since she made SUCH a big deal out of 'us needing to communicate schedules' she would point out, 'hey Jenn I'll be out.' She put this in the book THREE DAYS before so she KNEW she was going to be out..
Such a PITA. She did it so she can say 'but it was in your book.' and cover her @$$ but if I did that to her, WOOO boy, the world would end.
The reason Im so pissed is that when she is out, I cannot leave AT ALL because Im reception and if we miss calls the head hanchos have a cow. My peeing becoms a miracle in sprinting and squatting. LMAO. I cant take even 10 min for lunch. I instead have to swallow my food at my desk. So for me it is a major imposition. She knows that. She's just a witch!!!

I know we joke and tease all the time, but you seem so miserable. Those aren't even decent working conditions. You legally have to take a lunch, paid orunpaid,half hour minimum. Have you put your resume out yet?

I'm so sorry, Jenn!! That bites. If it makes you feel any better, my workplace is no picnic either. In fact, I almost didn't come back from lunch just now. The tension is running very high in here and they keep fighting with each other right in front of my desk. I'm talking loud screaming matches!! I work with only men and they are some of the most childish creatures I have ever seen.

Jesus.... I think we need to take a cue from my new avatar helen!
I am looking Ryan but its hard right now because of the holidays. If it werent for her, this is a good job. I am going to try to get back into the paraproefssional program in the NYDOE but its really hard because they hire anyone-meaning they usually hire incompetents rather than goood would-be teachers. I had an 'in' but it was for a shcool in the bronx where ym parents live and would have been a 21/2-3 hour commute each way everyday so I had to turn it down. Now Im afraid they will use that against me. But we will see.... Pray for me girls. Seriously.

hey hon, if midtown NYC's an option my place is always looking for reception/admins??? I've been here 4 years, and really like it.... Would you commute to NYC or is that a dealbreaker?

I am in NYC now actually. I currently work on Vanderbilt right by Grand Central. I'm totally used to midtown-its actually easier for me from NJ because its a straight trip to the port authority and then I trek aross town.
