About how far in advance did you book activities? I'm not sure if we should start doing this now or wait until we arrive in Hawaii. The Old Lahaina Luau is one thing we want to do, but I'm not sure how far in advance this can be booked. TIA!

We booked the luau a few months in advance. That is the only thing we booked early, the rest of the activites we booked when we got there.

We didn't book anything in advance. We didn't want to be tied down to anything so everything was decided on a day to day basis. We are sorry we didn't book the Old Lahaina Luau though. When we arrived in October it was booked through December.

The only thing we booked earlier was luau and helicopter. We tried to get into the Old Lahaina Luau before we left NY but it was booked so book early. Everything else snorkeling boat trips stuff like that we booked there.

We didn't book until we got there. Just make sure to at least plan your activity a day or two before.

We booked everything in advance
We didn't want to get shut out of all the really popular places so I booked everything while still here.

We booked everything when we got there and didn't miss out on anything. We did n't do that Luau though, not sure if it is something that books up early. We did a laua at the hyatt regency hotel.

Re: Hawaii Honeymooners, I have a ?
We made all of our day excursions when we got there:
When we stayed on Ohau at the Hyatt there was an Expedia desk and we made all our excursions with them.
On Maui we didn't too much just the Old Lahaina Luau. I wanted to go and I didn't book reservations in advance. So I called when I got there and they booked up until the next month. But they did say to call back the next day (and I did) to see if there were any cancellations and there was - that's how we got to go.
*edited to add: we had traditional seating (traditional seating was at table with a chair and conventional was on the floor on a pillow - if I remember correctly

We didn't book anything in advance, and we got to see the Old Lahina Luau via a cancellation, our hotel took care of it for us.
