Are there any excursions in Maui and Kauai that I must do and should book ASAP through my travel agent? Also, which is the best Luau?
Thanks girls....Only 15 more days!!

Re: Hawaiian Honeymooners.....

I didn't book anything thru my travel agent but I did book them pretty much the first or second day I got to each island. I had no issues.

I would definitely do the helicopter ride in Kauai - so gorgeous. Since we only stayed for 3 days in Kauai we had a little problem booking what we were told was the best one - but it all worked out - we just had to be flexible with time - which was no problem for us. I think we did the Jack something tour.

PS the conceirge desk in the hotels will do all the booking for you for tours and restaurant reservation as well as give you recommendations of things to do. They are a wonderful source of info. I recommend stopping in to see them as soon as possible on your trip (first day or early second day). They also have some 'connections' to places they do business with.

Re: Hawaiian Honeymooners.....

We are going in August for our 1st anniversary, but I was told the best luau is the Old Lahaina Luau in Maui. We booked right online - do a search and you should get a website. We also booked a helicopter tour from the computer but I think anything else we will book once we get there. Everyone tells me the hotels have places to sign up for all tours.

Re: Hawaiian Honeymooners.....

The same company that does the Old Lahaina Luau does an additional Luau called the Feast at Lele which is smaller and includes waiter service instead of a buffet. We did the Feast at Lele since it sounded a bit more romantic to us and got good reviews. In the end, I'm sure either one would be great but those two are certainly most often called the best in maui.

Re: Hawaiian Honeymooners.....

The concierge booked everything for us - I say the helicopter tour of Maui and if you can the sunrise volcano/bicycle tour...both excellent! I'm so jealous!!

Re: Hawaiian Honeymooners.....

We went to Maui for vacation in May. We did the following:

The Feast at Lele in Lahina - this was a lot of fun. I especially liked that they performed with the ocean and sunset as a backdrop.

Sunirise at Haelakala - despite having to get up at 3 am - this was awesome. We did it the second day we were there so getting up at 3 was not too bad since we were still on New York time.

Trip to Hana/Helicopter ride - this was such a fun day. A van trip to Hana - which included a swim in a waterfall and then a helicopter ride over the island. Very beautiful.

Enjoy - Maui is awesome!

Re: Hawaiian Honeymooners.....

We didnt book anything before our trip. There was plenty of availablity for excursions when we were there. I would book things when you first arrive though. I do recommend a helecopter tour. We enjoyed that!
