HELLO ONE AND ALL ESPECIALLY SWAGS!!!

I am back from Florida!!!, for those of you who did not know, I went to spend the weekend in Daytona beach with my in-laws(mother & father) and it was wonderful.

Swags I have every hope and belief that you will be ok too. I bonded with my mother in law and learned so much about her. I think it made my hubby extremly happy to know that we got to spend some time together alone. No he did not go with me, but being the man that he is, he sent me with instructions to learn to cook certain things that he like, that his mom used to make, the nerve

LOL

It was great, I think things are looking up. I hope everyone had a great long weekend. See you all around.

I guess the sisters are next....NOT

I'm so glad you had a good experience in Florida, Shamma.

I had a similar experience when DH and I got engaged. We spent a week with his father and step-mother. I was unsure of his step-mother, and very hesitant to stay with her for a week. From what I knew of her, I didn't like her at all. But during our visit I learned a lot about her, and we bonded on some level. It was a very good experience and helped to resolve my negative feelings about her.

I bet Swags is going to have a similar experience, too!

I am willing to go and see her again. I even braided her hair for her.

I thought of swags while I was there. I tell you going in to something with a mindset can really make it hard for you to get past something. She is a wonderful woman. We were watching tv together, we went shopping together, we cooked together. I feel so good about things. I am glad one of inlaws situation has smoothed out

See I know its hard for them not to love me once they got to know me

His dad and I got along once we met, so spending time with him is always cool

Welcome back!! You were missed!!!

I am soooo happy that you had such a great time with your MIL!!! It is so awesome that you had some wonderful bonding times!! I truly pray that we will have the same. Carol and I have only been alone for more than 10 minutes once, so I am desperately hoping to have the same warm experience that you had!!

Thank you soooo much for thinking of me and please know that when I go down there in Feb. I will think of you, especially if I need a happy thought!!

Shamma, I don't know the background to this issue, but just wanted to tell you how happy I am to hear that you found closeness somewhere where there was distance before. It's such a great accomplishment to work through issues....very underestimated accomplishment!

Shamma how great that you were able to establish a better relationship with your in-laws. It sounds like they got to know you better and you got to know them better. It sounds like their is a true relationship building. Sometimes with time things work out, and hopefully the now see you for the gem you are.

I guess there really are some bad MIL out there. Glad I don't have one of them
