'Hello who is this?...' 'Hoe.'

So i pick up the phone just now and someone in a thiiiiiiiiiiiiick accent says 'You. HOE!'

Me: 'Excuse me? who would you like to speak to?'

Her: 'You. HOE!'

Me: 'I beg your pardon..You want to speak to her?'

Her: 'You. Hoe.'

Me: I am very sorry but I cannot udnerstand you. This is (company name) how can I help you?'

Her: 'Hoe.'

Me: 'ma'am...'

Her: 'Hoe.'

Me: 'I am sorry but I cannot understand you and there is no one by that name here.'

Her: CLICK as the phone gets slammed in my ear.

Gotta love NYC.

People are crazy !!

I got a call at work one day and it was someone freaking out b/c he couldnt find his way out of Central Park Mind you Im on LI not the city and hes asking me to call him a cab

My guess is it might've been an Asian person? Looking for Mr. Ho??? WHen I lived there I made the mistake early on of calling people and asking to speak with 'Mr so and so' - when the receptionist would ask me who's calling I'd say 'Colette' and was regularly met with: Sorry, we don't accept collect calls. Click'

I quickly started using 'Ms. Lastname'

Colette it did sound like an asian woman but I didnt want to be flamed for assumptions but she was PISSED eat me because seriously that seemed to eb the only word she knew. I felt bad but my ears are still ringing from her slamming the phone.

I got one of those when I worked for Waldenbooks yeaaars ago. Some lady got sooo upset with my 18 year old self because I coudn't tell ehr where she could buy a bikini in the mall in the middle of winter. Mind you when we answered the phone we said...

'Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, you've reached WaldenBOOKS, how can I help you.'
