we are going to the city for our anniversary, we got a hotel and tickets to a show. Can someone recommend a nice restaurant in the city?? TIA

What kind of food are you looking for? If you guys like steak you can try Palm steakhouse. There is one on 50th and 8th avenue - not too far from the theatre district.

If you don't mind being a little further from the theatre, check out Blue Hill, L'Impero, the restaurant at Hotel Plaza Athenee, or you can try One if by Land, Two if by Sea (it's slightly overrated but still romantic). If you want somewhere sort of trendy, maybe try Bed or Duvet - you can eat your meals in a bed. Nothing more romantic than that. Except when DH and I called looking for Valentine's Day reservations and they wanted to put us in a bed with another couple. We don't roll that way
