Help Me

Ladies

Did anyone show up at your wedding that you did not have in your final head count? What did your reception hall do? Were they cool with it and just had you pay for them afterwards?

I have two people that have said they will try and make it.....so i don't want to count them and then just said they were a surprise showing up......

TIA for any advice

Re: Help Me

I had 1 person show up that was not on the final head count but it was my fault. She lost the response card and I forgot to put her on the list All they did was ask me where to seat her and they didn't do anything as far as charging me since we had some no shows

Re: Help Me

I think that banquet halls are used to this happening. There are also people who say they will be there and don't show up, so they shouldn't charge you extra if someone shows up unexpectedly..
By the way, what did you say to your guests when they told you they 'will try to come'? Are you close to these people?

Re: Help Me

Actually one is a cop and they are unsure if they have to work because of the 9-11 time period.

The other one is looking for a babysitter for her kids and is unsure if she can make it until she finds one.

I am pretty sure both of them won't come and they are not the most reliable people either.

My other question is, if I don't include them in the head count, should I make seating cards for them?

Re: Help Me

I think I would make place cards for them... You dont want to have to think about this the day of your wedding.

Re: Help Me

So what do you about # of tables at the reception and centerpieces, favors, etc.

Like for example, say 3 people show up unexpectedly and there are no seats....

My head hurts now...I can totally see this happening!

Re: Help Me

I already did most of my seating charts so i will put them at tables where there is room and make up seating cards. That way if they come they think they will have a seat. I will have my mother look out for them at the cocktail hour and hten as soon as we see them we get a seat for them.....

As for favors, I think they will just put the extra stuff on the table for them...
