I know this is a weird question, but how do you store your shoes?
I currently have them in their original boxes stacked in my closet but now they are just stacked so high it looks like a mess and the boxes take up so much room.
Does anyone have a neat, space saving way of storing their shoes?

i have that shoe rack that hangs on the wall in back of the closet..
or they have the floor ones.. its like 2 or 3 tiers .. its a good way to keep them neat!
i know target has them!!

I usually keep them in the original boxes. The out of season ones goe into the attic for storage. I do keep some of my everyday shoes in a canvas hanging shelf that attaches to the closet rod, holds about 10 pairs.

I just re organized my closet last night.
I put all of my boots and winter shoes away in the big basement closet. In my small bedroom closet I have all of my dress shoes. They are lined up in two rows. I also have a plastic rack so in the back of the closest my shoes are on two levels. My gym sneakers and flip flops are under the bed. I figure when I need to wear them I have time to fish around under the bed looking for them.
It's amazing the number of shoes I forgot I owned. I feel like I have loads of new pairs.

You know what my major issue is? My DH put in those california closets and I really do not think they are in any way efficient. My closet has sliding doors and on the one side there are shelves that start low to the ground and I can hang shirts, jackets, skirts on that side and then the other side is where I hang suits and dresses. Maybe I'll see if one of those racks works on that side b/c the hanging shoe holder will take up too much room. Thanks for the help!

I know! it's crazy! But then I don't want to throw any out either. Why I need 5 pairs of gold flip flops is beyond me but they are each different in their own special way and I don't want to part with them! LOL If it was up to DH, I'd have a pair of black shoes and a pair of brown shoes like him. LOL

When I lived with my parents I used to have a huge closet with those sliding doors and I hated it. It was impossible to see anything and annoying. Finally after begging for years my dad put in doors that open out. It was great until the house was put up for sale 1 month later.
The rack really helps. It is annoying if I want the shoes on the lower level but I guess this is just one of those things I will have to learn to deal with. I had shoe boxes in the closet for a while but they were a bit bulky plus shoes from the clearance rack at Marshalls don't have boxes .
