I'm thinking of upgrading my cellphone ... service is AT&T, which I've had for about 9 years & been happy.
My birthday gifts this year from family were mostly money, so now, of course, its burning a hole in my pocket. I'm being told to use it to buy something special. Is a cell phone special?
Any pros or cons on any of these phones?
Blackberry Pearl 8110
Blackberry Curve 8310
Samsung BlackJack II (SGH-i617)
And, last but not least, the iPhone ... which I could use with the Mac MobileMe service since I have a Mac laptop.
I'm also open to other suggestions if you have 'em.
I currently have a RAZR, which serves its purpose ... but I don't like it for sending text messages & I can't surf and post to LIW/LIF/Facebook from it

I have the blackberry curve and i LOVE it!!!! The pearl is nice but there are 2 letters on each key so that could get annoying

If I had At & t I would go for the iphone . I currently have it but only for i tunes and some other apps b/c I have verizon.

as soon as my contract is up im going for the iphone. i dont think you can post on liw with it though. songstress mentioned having problems with that.

I have the iphone and can post from it!! DH had to fix a few things to make it work, so I'm sure you could ask the cingular people.... But I LOOOVE my iphone! I have the older one, not the 3g though

I voted for iPhone because I have it and I'm obsessed with it. I use the internet so much more than I ever thought I would. I love having the Bank of America mobile banking. I come on LIW with it...sometimes I have to finagle a few things if I want to post (like I can't be signed on on my computer at home) but I usually just lurk when I'm on my phone. I'm so glad DH and I got our iPhones!
My friend has the Blackberry pearl and she loves it.

Dont get the PEARL! I went through 3 of them before my iPhone. The features are gerat but i think the phone is too small to properly function. Go for the Curve if you aim for Blackberry. I love my iPhone but if youre a constant phone user its not very good on the battery.

If you are going to go with a bb, i'd get the curve. I've heard not great things abt the pearl, and everyone i've ever known who's had a blackjack has hated it.

Jess, I have the Blackberry Curve, and it is by far, the best phone I ever had! And I was early on the smartphone bandwagon with the Treo 700w when it debuted (BLECH)
It is a combo of sleekness, functionality, and it has every feature I wanted-2 megapixel camera, video, holds my 4GB card, e-mail, net, GPS, etc.
If you want the lowdown, FM me!
The IPhone is kewl too-however, it is still relatively new, which means they are still working out kinks and if you can deal without a keyboard, and just a touchscreen, it is an option.
If you don't like your Razr for texts, you won't like the Pearl.
I highly recommend the Curve. I haven't heard much about the blackjack, but DH said it is pretty good.
The only downside of Blackberry is that you have to buy their specific blackberry data plan.
There is a new Treo though, and as long as you get the palm version, it is not bad.
I say go to the store and play with them!

I have the curve and DH has the iphone. I LOVE the curve. Probably the best phone I have ever had. The iphone screen is bigger and much nicer but I personally wouldn't really use all of the features it has so for me the curve is perfect. I chat on LIW all of the time.

I vote BB Curve, Jess!!! Web access is great, and I can read and post on LIW without problems. I had the Pearl at one point and HATED it!!!! I've also heard too many 'negatives' about the iPhone to swap over at this point, as C L as it looks!!!!
