Help me use our Deep Fryer....

I'm trying to think of things to make in it....we got it at our shower and have yet to use!! My grandpa always made fried cauliflower which is AMAZING which is why I really wanted it, but that would be more for a party appetizer....any good dinner ideas to use it?

TIA!

fried chicken!

honestly--just make sure you have PLENTY of oil. i was allll set to use mine one day--and i poured like an entire QUART of oil into it (it was family sized) and it didn't even make it to the min. fill line. you don't realize how much oil that thing uses.

Fried ravioli is delish! or homemade mozz sticks.

fried mushrooms are good. when i went to the melting pot--they gave us mushrooms and this yummy bleu cheese sauce--and told us to put it in the mushroom cap and then dip the mushroom in a tempura batter---and then we fried them in our fondue pot with some oil. everyone loved them.

beer battered onion rings can be good too.

i ? fried food. i've cut almost all of it out of my diet--so i'm living vicariously

hahah thanks for all the great ideas! I know it's not good to do the fried food all the time, but sometimes I asked DH what I should make and he said zeppoles and churros....I was like, what about for dinner? He goes, that can be dinner....

Fried Ravioli is SO good, totally forgot about that....maybe I can do mozz sticks, that would be a good side dish haha....my grandpa used to do fried eggplant that was so great, but DH isn't sold on eggplant....maybe I should do it and just tell him it's something else

DH and I LOVE fried calamari. I made it one day and it came out good but it would have been so much better w/ a deep fryer!

Yup, I found a bag in the seafood section (they were already cut). I soaked it in milk for a while. (Don't ask me why, this little old Italian lady told me that how she makes hers & I can't remember why she does it- but that's what I do ). Drain the milk out and put them in some breadcrumbs (I add seasoning to them) and fry! Very simple, just make sure you have a good marinara to dip!

Sounds pretty simple!! I will have to try! I've heard soaking in milk or buttermilk also, so it does at least sort of make sense!!
