Help with 30th Birthday

My Husband is turning 30 in January and I want to throw him a party--something different--We cant have tons of people at the house and i want it to be something fun--not just renting a room at a restaurant-- i thought of renting a bowling alley-- but made the mistake of telling the DH and he is not a big bowling fan-- although he did admit people would have fun!!-- we have tons of nieces a nephew so there will be at least 10-15 kids there --
any suggestions

Re: Help with 30th Birthday

I had a 30th surprise party for husband last year. We had a mexican fiesta theme. The party was at his mom's house and worked out well. I got all the decorations and went over the night before and decorated with his mom and sister. He was so surprised and said it was absolutely the best birthday of his life!

How about ice skating or roller skating. Or a ski weekend. I love the fiesta idea -- I'll have to keep that in mind

Re: Help with 30th Birthday

My husband turned 30 last January and I threw him a Mexican Fiesta surprise party as well. We did it in a restuarant though.

As for ideas tha can include children as well, I like the idea of an ice-skating outing. A ski weekend might be good for just the two of you as it can be expensive. Another place I like to go every once in a while is Jillians (Farmingdale or Westbury). The kids would have fun there too, however, their night might have to end a little earlier!!

Re: Help with 30th Birthday

I'm planning Al's 30th for September. We'll be in NY the weekend of his birthday for a friends wedding, so its a good opportunity to get together with family & friends & celebrate.

I don't have a theme yet though. I was thinking simply sushi & cocktails & dessert. It'll be at my parents house. If the weather holds (late September evening) we can go swimming...

I welcome suggestions.
