I hope it is ok to post here......I apologize for hijacking your forum! I didn't get any responses on BHB. THank you in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FI and I decided that we are going to make our own invites. Of course, this translates to ME making our invites.
I went to the paper store and ordered some samples from envelopments, which I will get next week. I want to layer the paper. Here is my dopey question: How do you stick the layers of paper to each other? Spray glue? doublestick tape?
Next question: What is the best way to cut the paper? They don't sell the cardstock in the sizes I need. I could buy a papercutter, I guess. Is there a better way to do it? The lady at the store said that Kinko's might do it, but they charge per cut.
Thanks in advance for your advice! I am totally clueless. There's going to be a class for making invites at the store where I got the stuff, but it is in Oct. and I can't wait that long to start!
TIA!

Re: Help with DIY invites....
DH made our invites but I helped put them together so I'm only a little bit of help. We found that glue sticks DO NOT work when sticking things together. We used glue dots they worked great but only hold in the places you put them. So the sides were not closed but the ends were glued. As far as cutting I would definately recommend a paper cutter. Most of them have a guide and a ruler on it so that you know exactly what size you are cutting. Thats about all I know..sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Re: Help with DIY invites....
You could use double sided tape, glue dots or spray adhesive. It really depends on what you prefer and what kind of stick you want...all will work.
Even a cheap paper cutter is $20...and its a LOT of work to cut paper with a cheap hand cutter. Kinkos does charge per cut but you can cut the whole stack of paper at one time. So even if it ends up being a few dollars more at Kinkos, its well worth it to save yourself the aggravation and time and have them do it. ( And it may not even cost anymore )
