HERE IT IS...

First of all... THANK YOU to everyone who gave me advice regarding powerpoint /slideshows... I ended up using imovie and exporting to a DVD. (I LOVE MY MAC) We are having a television at my grandmother's party and plan to show this....

Just to give you a little background. My mother is the oldest of 8 children. She had an older sister who died when my mom was six (her sister Barbara was 8...)

My grandmother gave birth to 9 children... She & my grandfather were very much in love... They both were from families with 10 siblings. My grandfather's family was considered the trash of the neighborhood but my grandmother rescued him...

this is my grandfather... my mother is holding his hands, and my aunt barbara is the girl to her left. (a great aunt and cousin are also pictured)

my grandfather was movie star handsome....

He died when he was 61....

We don't know much about his side of the family, but my grandmother's family is still around and holding reunions etc etc...

This wknd we celebrate her 80th birthday. Only her sister Terry and brother Johnny are left.... But my mother's cousins, brothers & sisters and my 30+ cousins will be in attendance.

This is a little chronical of my grandmother and her children....

ENJOY

wow....amazing!!

and boy your grandfather was QUITE the looker! what a handsome man. that's really a great pic and your did a wonderful job on the video.

Thank you so much for sharing that with us. Your grandparents had a beautiful family and you could just tell how much in love they were. And yes, movie star good looks indeed!

Nice job! You look a lot like your grandmother when she was young!!!

---

my mother looks like my grandmother... and I look a lot like my mom. (though my grandmother wasn't a very good looking woman...)

thank you guys for all the compliments. I'm very proud of it... still have a little *tweaking* to do, but this is pretty much what I wanted to get done.

This is great caroline. It fantastic how many pictures you actually have of them. I have a few of my grandmother which I restored two years ago and created an album with, but this is a really great idea. Was it difficult to do?

---

one of my aunts kept all the family photos and created an album, so I just scanned them & resized them from there... I just wish I had time to gather photos from the last 30+ years and continue with the granchildren and GREAT grandchildren.

It wasn't difficult at all... Mac's are really user friendly when it comes to editing and photo stuff. I used iMovie. SO EASY, just alot of clicking and dragging.

I have a BA in Comm & Media (production) so I did alot of video editing in college... it wasn't difficult for me to translate frames per second etc etc. I just never edited on a COMPUTER before. It's veeeeeeeeeeery different, but easy & fun.

Now that I've gotten my feet wet with this program (and I've had my mac for over 2 years oy.....)
I'm going to pull out all my son's videos and start playing.

its beautiful!!
you did a great job!

Caroline it came out beautiful! Nice job!! Your Grandfather was very handsome!!

---

wasn't he? Its funny b/c he was handsome up until the day he died. My sister worked for the neighborhood bakery growing up and said all the old ladies who worked there were in LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE with 'matty'

When my mother went back to work (I was around 12), he would come pick me up from Jr High if I was sick... The women in the nurses office used to FLIRT with him!!!!

it was crazy. He was an artist too... One of his paintings is in the corner of one of the photos (the one with the Christmas tree) I own that painting now..,

Alot of my cousins inherited 'papa's' talent.

I just wish I had time to get to know him. He died when I was about 15.
