I'm sure there have been some variations on this post but I'm too lazy to search right now. I invited my boss to my wedding--she practically begged to be invited and I don't really care too much for her. So, I ended up inviting her and she RSVPd yes for her and her date. Day of the wedding-she didn't show up. I got an email from her the next day telling me that she was working and couldn't make it. Ok-I was married on a Saturday and I work for a M-F, 9-5 corporation. So-now I'm back at work and have no idea what to say to her. Needless to say-I never got an apology or a gift (not that that really matters-it's just the principle of the situation). Anyone out there experience something similar? If so, how did you handle it??

Wow thats really yucky. I'm sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, the best way to handle this is to do nothing at all. Confronting your boss is not in your best interest and is unlikely to create any good outcome. I say just accept that shes a jerk, and forget about it.

I can't believe that she did that to you. But I agree with the other girls don't bring it up.

I think it was extremely tacky of her to do this, but I agree with the others, let it go

Same here ... extremely horrible thing to do ... but say nothing and hopefully she'll apologize on her own!

Very sticky situation, but I agree with everyone else. Don't bring it up. Sorry that happened to you because you have to see this person everyday, not to mention work for her. Geez

Re: Here's a question...
Similiar thing happened with Al's old boss - except he never contacted us to explain why he didn't show. A few weeks later, Al sent him an email (it was eating at him, and we were worried they may have been there and we missed them).
He gets a lame reply back about how his daughter was sick that day - as if that's an excuse to be rude! Was he never going to explain his absence?
Your case is a little different since you still work together - I'd let it go.

Re: Here's a question...
I decided not to say anything--I think it's eating at me even more though because I'm up for a promotion and it doesn't look like she's going to give it to me. It's like--I'm not made of money and she just cost me a lot! I just don't understand what makes people do things like that.... Maybe someday down the line, I'll get my 2 cents in!
