I was thinking of you today during my lunch hour, you were fully dressed if that makes you feel better .

I heard Freeway, the Aimee Mann song on the radio that you sang in that contest, on the radio. Who won the contest anyway? I voted everyone else 1 star and you were 5 stars!!

Just now I couldn't remember the name of the song because I wanted to tell you about this. For some reason I thought it was Highway .

Stupid contest. For one thing, i already saw her in concert and she STILL hadn't announced the winner. But trust me- I won't win. Some videos were just cool and creative and I was too lazy. I had a funny idea- but never went through with it. I was gonna film myself as 'the band' - using Rock Band instruments! Me at the drums, guitar, mic, and I'd add keyboards in there too. I woulda been various characters a la Alanis Morisette in 'Ironic'.

Hmmm guess I better check out the contest. Weeks ago she said she was announcing that week...but she's been on the road so it's been tough. Whatever! I'm over it!

Although...I could see her when she comes to NJ in Sept...She should have a winner in every city!

ETA: Just checked the youtube link - this is her message:

'After much deliberation, we have, finally picked the winners and runners-up. We want to notify all the winners personally before we make an announcement, which we hope will be very soon. Thanks agian for all your patience and all the great videos!'


Runners up get a signed cd- oh big whoop! I already have one from her last album!I say this as she plays on my iPod...

FOr my senior video project in college a friend & I recreated the IRONIC video... except... we had like 25 different alanis'.... She was the drive thru employee, the toll booth operator... a friend in her apartment... we even put 'her' in a photo one of 'her' was holding as the 'beautiful wife'

it was quite brilliant...

Oh Cat...you reminded me of an old pre-wedding dream I had. Were you around when I posted that I dreamed I was wearing a denim wedding gown? Maybe it was you who found pics of them and posted them - they actually exist! It happened ages ago though....

Teehee Caroline...sounds like one of my back to school anxiety dreams!

OMG Caroline that sounds AMAZING! I would love to see that! I shoulda recruited you as my video director.

damn I knew creativity would beat out actual singing talent!

What station were you listening to? I heard it randomly on 101.9 or whatever it is. The new NY rock station. I was psyched to hear her on the radio! I'll never hear her as long as I listen to Q104! I'm so out of the loop listening to the 60's/70's!

Yes it was 101.9 my new love!!! I was so excited today they played an album cut from U2 and the Kings Of Leon I thought I had a cd in since those songs are never on the radio. I listen to Matt Pinfield everyday driving to work he has so much random music knowledge I love it.

I still listen to BAB and Q104.3 but they seem to have the same 10 Van Halen, Pink Floyd and Led Zep songs on rotation and they must play them at least once an hour.

It's amazing how hearing a song on the radio can make your day. even if you have the cd in your car hearing it played on the radio it sounds better and is just such a nice surprise!!! I am such a lame loser .
