They came, they ate, they danced--they stiffed!

Anyhoooo......should we go? Usually if I can't go, I give a gift; DH thinks we should not go, not send a gift. What do you think? If we go, I will give a gift. It isn't my style not to.

I would go... hey, it's a night out!

I would probably give them something in the $50 range off their registry.

Give them a card saying you hope they enjoy their wedding as much as you did yours.

I would def go and give them something off their registry around the 50 buck range along with a card saying thank you for inviting us and I hope you enjoyed our wedding as much as we did yours!

I think you should go. It's just so much fun to go to wedding and party and have fun. I can understand your wanting to give a gift and I think I would feel the same way.

I love the card idea too!!! I would go and have fun. Why not - unless you have something better to do. lol

go and give a check for $50 and write something like 'I hope you enjoyed our wedding as much as we enjoyed yours'

If you remember, this is the person for whom I wrote on their thank-you card:

We hope you enjoyed yourselves.

DH thinks it's ballsy to even invite us.

LOL

I would go and just give a card. One of the nice things of getting married is we get to give back the same amount other couples gave us. It makes things so much easier. If i ever were invited to one of the non gifters weddings i would go and only give them a card. If later they sent something to us then i would do the same thing.

I would do the same.

It's always in the back of my mind, what if they did leave a gift and it got lost in the shuffle.

Which is why you should always give a check for a wedding. When the check never gets cashed... I am sure the people giving the gift will inquire about it. Confusion averted.

Exactly! I am always surprised at how many people give cash. It's so easy for it to get lost.

I agree with the majority - go, eat, dance, have a blast and just give a card.

I'm in the minority. I would take the high road. I would go if I could and give a gift that I would normally give. If we couldn't go, then I would send a card and check as well.

Two wrongs don't make a right JMHO.

I would go and give a cheaper gift off the registry.

PS: There was no chance it got lost in the shuffle; this person came up to me AT the wedding and told me they 'forgot' it. We never got anything. Of course, at the wedding we said, 'Hey--no worries.' It wasn't exactly something we were thinking about; we were just so elated. But then this person kept saying, 'Gosh, I keep forgetting!' Guess they never remembered.

Thanks for the opinions!!!! We will probably end up going. I would never not give something if I attend. I agree, two wrongs don't make a right.

I would do the same. Maybe when they open your card they will start to say what the heck only $50??? And realize they gave you NOTHING!

In that case, I would go with a very small check in hand.
