Have your parents/immediate family members send you back the RSVP cards for your wedding. Or did they just ignore them? Both mine and FH's parents have not yet RSVPed and have no intention of doing so. So, I am just questioning whether its our families being weird or whether or not its normal?

Re: Hey Newlyweds
My father had to be asked to send it back. He said 'why do I need to send it - you know Im coming?' to which i replied 'JUST SEND IT!'
And do you know what? He physically dropped it in my mailbox after TAKING THE STAMP OFF!!! I couldnt believe it!
Lukes parents sent it in right away from what I remember but thats because Luke asked them to beforehand.
Morale of the story: They didnt understand why we wanted them to send it back but after asking for it, they did.

Re: Hey Newlyweds
They thought it was understood that they were coming. I told them its nice to have it back and if you are not sending it back, I want my stamp back. Hubby's parents sent their back, my mom and my aunt took forever.

Re: Hey Newlyweds
My mom intends to give it to us 'in-person' at our next visit... Not sure what Lenny's parents are doing.
Meanwhile, I already got 10 out of 50 cards back, they've only been out for a week.

Re: Hey Newlyweds
I can't believe people are keeping the stamps On the flipside, I am upset that parents wont' be using the postal service which is already 'paid for'

Re: Hey Newlyweds
I mailed my parents rsvp in and asked my sil to send in her parents. Otherwise, they would never have done it.

Re: Hey Newlyweds
My immediate family and esp. our parents sent it back quickly and with pleasure. They knew how exciting it was for us to receive them in the mail. My little brother teased me being he was in the bridal party that he didn't need to send it - but he did within a week or two (had to decide if he was bringing a date or not).

Re: Hey Newlyweds
Niecey, now that you say that, my BP did not send their's back and none of them gave us our stamps back Oh I just remembered, the Bm sent his back and said NO
My parents sent it back right away, but we hadn't received Joe's father's, so he called him up and he said that he never received the invitation and wehn Joe asked how come he didn't tell us that, he said he didn't expect an invitation since he's the parent!!! Whatever.

Re: Hey Newlyweds
Many of my mother's extended family RSVP via telephone or e-mail, they never returned the RSVP card. In Chinese culture they just don't return the RSVP even if our wedding was 99% American style. IMHO, I find it extremely rude and so lazy, stupid not to RSVP. It only takes a minute of their time to send back the RSVP card with the stamped envelope provided. We even provided them with a stamp. IMHO, it's a matter of edquitte, manners and one's upbringing. Personally, I find it rude, inconsiderate and selfish not to send back the RSVP card but that's just my opinion.

Re: Hey Newlyweds
I didnt have them send it. I knew they were coming. I just needed my bridal party who I invited with guests to send it, so I knew who was bringing a date or not.

I don't think they did. They were there, so that is all that counts.
