Hi Newleyweds! Sorry to hijack...I have a ? for you
Hi! I'm a bride-to-be, so I'm sorry for hijacking this board, but I wanted to ask you all a question. Did any of you have a judge or justice of the peace perform your wedding ceremony? Could you please FM me names and information? Thanks! FH and I will be looking for an officiant this summer.

Sorry I can't help - I was married in a church. Have you checked the vendors board on LIW? there are probably officiants listed there.
Good luck!

Thanks. I looked, but most of them are pastors or reverands. We want someone with no religious affiliation at all. We figure we are safe with a judge or a justice of the peace.

Have you looked into Rev. Janine Burns at all? She does have the 'Reverend' title but is really not specifically affiliated with any particular type of spirituality. (Believe me, neither my DH nor I is religious at all, and we were nervous about having religious stuff forced on us in our ceremony, and we both loved her.) And she's great to work with. I think she is a vendor on this site.

You have to go to your county and get the list of judges who do ceremonies. I am using the Honorable Eugene Kelly. His #631-862-6565.

We were married by Rev. April Gismondi. But she does not have a religious orientation. She'll customize your ceremony how you want it...ours was mostly spiritual from a romantic point of view. I highly recommend her.
Good luck!
