Hmmmm...marriage license???

I was married back on December 6, I still have not received my license! I need to change my name and all sorts of other things that are on hold b/co f it. I emailed the reverend who performed the ceremony, but she has not gotten back to me. I am trying to call Queens Borough Hall where we got our license, but the only number I can find is constantly ringing, no one picks up ever.

Can someone help me? Should I have had it by now?

I did not receive my certificate either and I need to change my name already because I have all my school loans and school papers to do ugh!!

I mean I know I was married later than you. But I am surprised you didnt get yours yet...wow. It's past a month already.

ugh..I don't have time to make phone calls to the stupid reverend!

Maybe b/c I was late getting it to the chapel lol this is my punishment :(

really...so mine should have been here as well

mine was in the mail when we got back from our HM - so it took less than 2 weeks.....

i haven't changed my name yet though.....

i don't know if my marriage license needs to be fixed - there is a small mistake on it - for location it says: 249 jericho terrace, mineola NY and it should be 249 jericho turnpike, mineola NY - i am hoping that its ok?? i noticed it the last time i looked at it....

I am sorry I can't help you. But I think it's ridiculous that we have to do this. I mean come on now...we have been waiting a month for ours... shouldn't they contact you if something is wrong with it you know?!!?!?!

First contact the person that performed your ceremony. It all starts with them - if they delay mailing in the signed license, then your marriage certificate will be delayed.
After you have that information, then try calling the town hall or you can also try contacting the state's vital records department to see if the filing was done.

ahhhh I finally did get someone! lol

They told me that the time of the ceremony was left off the certificate. I am also going to have it sent directly to our new apartment :) phew!

I just wonder how long they were going to let it sit there before they called and told us that the time was left off??? Anyway, glad I got someone on the phone :)
