Holiday tipping?

Holiday tipping?

DH and I aren't sure how much to tip our mailman, garbage men, and newspaper carrier for the holidays. We don't want to be cheap, but we also don't want to overdo it. What are good amounts? TIA!

My grandmother usually gives a bottle of something to each of those that you mentioned & my mom does about $10 each- I dont know if thats cheap, but I would guess that most people dont bother anymore

What about your building super? Anyone have any ideas? I think we gave the super and porter a card with scratch offs last year. I dont remember if we put cash in it or not but maybe we should... We always tip them when they come to do anything in the apartment.

DH says we paid the super $100 and the porter $50 last year, obviously i have a terrible memory

I guess we'll do what we did last year!

$20 for the postal person, $20 each minimum for each garbage man on the truck (there are floaters and recycling that don't get regularly tipped so your regular guys chip in to tip them too!). These people work in all kind of weather and deserve it!

It depends on who has helped you more...my parents porter is always helping them with things but they always tip the super, porter and the handyman (I forget his technical title).
