What do you do in terms of holidays with the parents vs in laws. I am having a tough time. My in laws are only 2 as their daughter doesnt feel it is necessary to come in for holidays from MD. My family is alot larger and they do every holiday. I dont want to put more people on my parents and i certainly do not want it to be a tradition that his family always runs to my families but never reciprocates. His mother is very non communicative and could easily sit home and not care what anyone is doing but i also feel guilty. Again, there is another holiday and she hasnt called to see what anyone is doing. I assume once again she is waiting for me. I feel pulled between 2 families but yet one is pulling and the other one is taking. what do you do during these types of situations?

one more addition: My mom isnt giving up doing her holidays. i asked that everyone comes here and my mom said she wanted to do it.

I agree go to both your moms and in laws that is what me and my husband are doing this holiday season. Besides you got an excuse to eat more food that way

THis year we are doing THanksgiving and for Christmas going to my parents....we'll most likely go to his next years (which will be very hard on me since my huge Italian family all gets to gether and we have soo many 'traditions' and it's just his parents and brother and they don't have any ). We'll just have to create new traditions but I know next year will be a tough one.
