what does ur DH like? tickets to a sports game? a nice watch? cologne? something engravable from thingsremembered.com? gift certficate to his favorite store?
or since the 1st year anniversary gift should be 'paper' you can make a calender of next year with cute pics yourself or making a scrap book of the two of you if want to put your creativity to the test

his birthday was just last week so I am stumped. I got him a new GPS and clothing.

does he have a favorite book? maybe you can ask the author (if still living) to sign a copy for him?
My FH had Nelson DeMille sign a book for me so I know he does it.
Maybe an autographed sports star picture? Or some type of signed sports memorabilia?

I did this one evening for Scott and he & . I decided to bring home all his favorite foods for a take in romantic night. I went to three restaurants to complete the meal: apps (Vincent's), entree (Spazzo's) and desert (Cheesecake Factory). I set the table with our fancy cloth napkins and napkin rings and lite our two hurricane candles. Then for an added bonus I excused myself to use the girls room to change into a little velcro number. I called him in asking him to help and when he came in I was dressed up as a gift . Or you can try this site which I think is simply fantastic Anniversary ideas

Well they say the first year is 'PAPER' so I recommend a week's worth of want ads for Joey...
As for DH.... if you stick with the paper tradition, tix to something you'd both enjoy might be cool??? (you've earned it this year!!) Can you do a little weekend getaway????
