Holy Sh$$--DMV fees

I want to go to the DMV tomorrow to change my address and name on my license, registration and title.

It is going to cost $40.00

Gee wiz!!!!!

ETA:: I went today and it was only $10.00 to change my name on all documents. I have no idea what that lady was thinking when she told me $40.00.

I had to take a new picture and I looked like crap!!!!!

I never thought to change it on my registration and title. I just did my license. Wonder if it matters??

I was told by the DMV woman that only the license and registration needs to be current... and the title can have the old address

It cost me $44 just to change my license, but I had an SC license, so it was getting a NYS license, changing my name and address

I could be totally wrong but I THINK i paid $10 to change all my info [name, address, photo] for NYSDL

yeah I changed my name on my license, reg & title. still only 10 dollars.

did you RENEW anything?

On the website, it says it's only $15 in NY to change your name on your license and $0 to change your name on your registration...

ETA - I think it might have went up recently because I only paid $10 as well.

I just changed mine too and I think it was $10 for title and registration and can't remember how much license was......I'm getting worried though I made the change mid-way in October and they said it would take 1 week to get my new title. Still not here yet.

It DOES on your registration, BUT you don't have to pay for a new registration card if you don't want one. You can just update the address.

Hmm, this makes me wonder if I should wait to change my address on my license and registration etc until I change my name too.... that way I don't have to pay twice.
