After I read all these, why should I be encouraged to buy a fixer upper, when I can't even see pass what it looks like now I think I want to build.

We have been on a home improvement blitz!! We just had our 1954 kitchen and our master bath completely ripped out and redone. New windows in both rooms and we also upgraded our electrical to 200 AMP service. What we are planning for the next 3 months: Main bathroom being completely ripped out and redone, finishing our attic to make it a home office/guest bedroom, adding a whole house fan, replacing the last 4 original windows with new energy efficient tilt wash windows, replacing our front door, repairing our concrete raised patio, new carpeting and living room furniture. In the yard we have 2 trees that are diseased and have to be removed. Whew. That is a lot of stuff. But when we are done we have almost a whole new house!!!
