Honestly, just something that is livable, if that is even a word. I feel like we found so many houses we love but there's always that one thing that will hinder us from buying it. And it's nothing that could be changed easily. Like the gorgeous, newly renovated house with a rentable basement but no backyard

dont' even bother with an agent. They show you the stuff they cant sell first and waste your time. I remember we went through an agent and the woman took me to the most horrible homes I have ever seen! The last house looked like the house from Silence of the Lambs where Buffalo Bill had that girl in the basement. I walked in, and walked right out and said get me the he** out of here and take me back to my car!!! That was the last time I will ever deal with an agent.

oh yeah this is the seller's agent LOL we arent ready to seriously look yet - so we just go here and there

it is but you will get through it! I remember how stressful it all was but at the end its worth it!

I think we were house hunting for almost 1 year. The last house that we saw before we even walked in I just about gave up. As soon as we walked in both DH and I knew we were taking it. Trust me there is work that needs to be done, and we are doing it little by little on our own. At the end of the day our house is our home and all the work did pay off!

thanks!! BIL lives in barnum woods, it's really nice! we saw a couple of houses in that area that we really liked, but they needed too much work, and when we confirmed the taxes, it was actually more than what was on the listing. the house we hope will be ours is about 3 blocks outside of barnum woods. it's so crazy how 3 blocks can change the district. it's still closer to merrick ave, but it's between hempstead tpke and front st, actually MUCH closer to front street, about 2 or 3 blocks in from merrick.
