There I got it out!! The past few weeks we've been looking for homes and Im doing alot of this It so time consuming. Ive been trying to be optimistic and not get overwhelmed but its so hard to find something we like and then its number crunching over and over again.
Almost everything we've looked at is a foreclosure b/c so many homes are being lost and they really arent great deals b/c they need so much work.
Anybody else house hunting?

Re: house hunting is soooo
I've just started looking. I have 5 homes that I want to look at currently. I know atleast 2 of them are foreclosures. It is very stressful to househunt.

some houses are just down right horrible but you make it through and its all worth it when you find the right house....

Thanks girls. I know we will find something eventually
I just cant believe the amount of foreclosures out there. I always thought they were good deals but alot of them are turning out to be more work than its worth.

Re: house hunting is soooo
totally stressed over here as well
we found our house and we LOVE it - needs some work but all things that we are really excited about doing
problem is, its a short sale and the bank has not accepted our offer.....we are 76 days in! not knowing for this long is VERY stressful.....last week we decided to increase our offer to see if the seller would at least take the house off the market and not accept any other offers - and it worked - otherwise someone could come in with a higher offer or cash offer and steal it away from us........hopefully the increase will also make the bank respond quicker.....all i can do is WAIT
waiting is VERY STRESSFUL - especially b/c for the amount of money we want to spend there is nothing - this is the only home in our budget and if we don't get this we won't be able to move to florida....and we are dying to get down there already!
so i kind of feel your pain
hang in there!!

I know how you feel. We put an offer on one house (foreclosure) and it took over a month to let us know and we had to keep calling before they finally answered and said someone outbid us.
Our realtor told us how crazy busy the banks are and they are especially slow with the short sales. She sold a short sale house 3x and lost it 3x b/c the banks took so long!!! But if your house is off the market - not to worry!! No one can offer higher!!
We can afford these houses that need work but we are pretty much left with nothing to fix up the house so thats where we are stressed.

what areas are you looking in?? do you have a mortgage broker??
we are using a mortgage broker who was able to tell us what price range we can afford without doing major work and what price range if it did need major work....it really helped us focus are search and find the right house.

yeah, its crazy!!
and you dont want to buy something just to have a house even though you want a place so bad - we want to get out of our apartment more than anything so we can re-locate but by no means are we going to 'settle' and just get anything......so that is why i will be so disppointed if this house doesn't go through.....
keep looking - don't settle, you don't want to end up with something you can't afford to fix to your standards - and you have to get that feeling when you are in it!
i never really got the feeling people talk about when trying on dresses - but this house give me that feeling

Re: house hunting is soooo
I totally know what you mean!
That was us last year...just imagine...house hunting and wedding planning at the same time! Not fun!!!!! (We ended up closing 15 days before our wedding)
Don't worry....you will find the perfect place...and remember everything happens for a reason.
DH and I were on our way to get a house inspected...they had accepted our offer two days before...and about 20 minutes before our appointment the inspector (who had gotten there early) called us telling us that the people wouldn't let him in becuase they had accepted another offer!!!! Could you imagine!
But like I said...everything happens for a reason because we ended up finding something even better and soooo much closer to our family, friends and jobs!
Good luck!
