Housewarming Gift??

Housewarming Gift??

My friend and her husband just moved into their new house and I want to come up with a gift for her. She's been married for five years so she doesn't need any appliances or knick knacks so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of something original or useful that I can give her when I go over. Any suggestions would be great! Thank You!!

Re: Housewarming Gift??

well I know that whenwe got house warming gifts of Home Depot or Lowes Gift Certs they were the best!! Im sure they have some things that need to be done around the house and these always come in handy.

If not, then how about a nice bread basket, with some small dipping bowls , Olive oil and dipping spices. WE got that from one of our friends and we love it!!

I'm partial to Gift certificates as well but I know they are not as warm.
What about a basket with some candles and poutpuri and then also a gift certificate in the basket?

How about a basket filled with the everything for a complete dinner. Like an italian theme with wine, pasta, sauce, etc or Mexian with margarita mix, chips, salsa, enchillada mix or something like that. And better yet, you can bring it and prepare it all for them!

I bought a couple of my friends really nice welcome mats. I bought them from William Sonoma online. You can personalize them with address or last name or whatever you want. They all really appreciated them and said them were very needed (esp. with this past winter).

If you go the Home Depot gift certificate route, you can go to the paint department and get a small, empty metal paint can. Decorate it yourself and put the gift certificate inside - makes a cute wrapping.
