Housework

Housework

Who does most of it in your home?

I do all the cleaning and I mean ALL. It used to aggravate me but its just the way DH is. I like things immaculate and he could live in filth. He rarely even picks up his socks.

Sometimes it doesnt seem fair to me but if I really stop and think about it, he is who is and its not worth the argument.

DH is very handy so he does all the guy stuff so I cant complain there

Re: Housework

i think this was asked a couple weeks ago - but that's ok, I'll answer again

It's me who does all the cleaning, esp since I'm not working right now. I really don't mind it, as long as he cleans HIS stuff (meaning the papers all over his desk and his tools, etc) because I have no idea where he wants 'em. lol. But I vacuum, scrub, dust, and so on. Once i go back to work tho, i could see it getting a little more annoying, but I'm sure I'll still be doing it.

Re: Housework

DH and I both do the cleaning. He mainly vacuums and takes out garbage, that is pretty much the extent of his cleaning. I appreciate it. I use to be on him to do the dishes but I can't stand how he cleans them or really how he doesn't clean them. I just do it now, nothing worse than seeing spots on the glasses.

Your DH sounds just like mine! He would live in filth and squalor if it wasn't for me, and he'd be perfectly content about it! The only room I refuse to touch is the basement where he smokes and stuff. It is SO gross down there but I won't touch it. He will clean it eventually, as he is fixing it up. He does all the handy things around the house, too, so I feel like its equal. And I don't mind cleaning, anyway. I know this sounds weird, but it sort of relaxes me. If I am livid about something, if I go to work scrubbing the kitchen floor or the toilets, I get out all my frustrations

DH would never break out a vacuum. He doesnt pick up his plates and cups by the couch either.

I do all of the cleaning. Like your DH mine could live in fiilth. I however cannot live like that.

He's gotten better with not leaving his clothes laying around and puts it in the hamper. He also does all the cooking, so on that front I can't really complain. He also does all the 'guy' stuff, like all the carrying and yard work and stuff like that, that requires more brute stregnth.

Re: Housework

DH does the dishes once a month, MAYBE twice. He thinks I shoudl bow down to him since he did something.

He has yet to do any household chores. Cant even get the laundry IN the hamper yet... Im working on it though..

Re: Housework

This is a sore spot for me. I do most of the cleaning. And if I try to get DH to do anything he always has an excuse. I do have him scooping the litter box now daily so that's something I don't have to worry too much about anymore. He also feeds the cats. And unloads the dishes which I appreciate. Then I only have to load the dishwasher.
