I'm curious to know what everyone does with them as far as storage. I have my proofs in albums, but do you girls actually display the albums or have them on a bookshelf? Also those that got the negatives, have you put them in a fireproof box? Do you keep the proofs with the negatives in a fire proof box in your attic?? Any suggestions? right now I just have everything sitting in the bag my photographer gave me.

You should not keep your negatives in the attic because the heat and humidity will effect them. You should keep them wherever there is the least amount of humidity and temp. change.

My SIL is puting her wedding negatives in a safe deposit box. My ILs house was destroyed by fire a few years ago and many childhood photos were lost. There was a lot of rubble, so even a fire safe box might have gotten lost. So, SIL wants the assurance of storing her negatives outside the house.
I can understand this, as I keep a backup of my office computers off the premises, so it is the same idea.
For mywedding I have digital files. We don't know what we will do yet, probably store disks in a safe deposit box or at my office. For now, at least we know that the photog. has files and files are uploaded on OFOTO and Shutterfly (but I'd have to buy them back to get my own files).

I don't have negatives since our photographer used digital. we have the DVD's with all the original files and made copies of the DVD's. we're going to put 1 set of them in our safety deposit box. the proofs I put into 3 large albums which are acid free.

All of my proofs are in pretty albums and in my closet, but my negatives are in my card box along with all my other wedding items.
