How can I get my ring off? - update - I got the ring off

My ring is stuck (wedding band) and nothing so far I've used will work - lotion, soap, oil.

I've been drinking water like mad but I'm not losing water weight (my fault - had 2 hotdogs last night - sodium) and now my skin is very raw under the ring.

Any other ways to get it off?

Updated - I finally got it off last night - it wasn't easy but I just had to wriggle it little by little.
Part of the problem (which never was until now) is that my ring finger is a bit bent to the left (if you're looking at it palm up) because my mother accidently broke it when I was 10 (she closed a door on it not knowing I was on the other side with my hand holding the door). It was never set right but I have never had a problem slipping rings on it until now. But I think it's the humidity - my salt intake - and not enough drinking water that did it to me.

Have you tried putting your hands in cold water or on ice?

Only other thing would be to do some high impact excercise that would make you sweat a lot and release the water.


Oh yeah, and dont' fight with it, that wil make your fingers swell even more. Just try to relax.

Definitely ice water or something really cold to shrink your fingers. You may also want to try drinking some lemon water as a diuretic that will get you peeing and get rid of any extra water you may be retaining in your fingers. I know that my fingers swell a lot in the summer from the heat.

Do NOT struggle with it, though.
