How did you handle issues w/ vendors after your wedding?

How did you handle issues w/ vendors after your wedding?

I'm going to see my photographer today to discuss my album layout.

I was not pleased with my proofs, don't get me wrong I have alot of beautiful pictures, it was just that he missed ALOTof things.

No, I didn't have a must-take list but things like our wedding bands I feel should be a given, we have no ring pics at all.

My husband and I did a Family Medallion ceremony w/ our children, he only got a pic of me & my daughter- not of my husband and son.

There's several more but I'm wondering should I ask for some kind of compensation or just let it go b/c I still have to work w/ him to get my album and enlargements done.

BTW, the owner of the company (who I' m going to see today )was not my photographer, his partner was.

We also have had a vendor issue, but not with our photographer. What we have done is to speak to the vendor to let him know we are unhappy about what happened and get his 'side' of the story. We finally came to an agreement three weeks ago and they were supposed to send me a check to make up for part of what happened - of course nothing yet. It's been VERY frustrating and I've held off on doing my Review because I wanted to give them a chance to do the right thing.

In your situation, I too would be upset and disappointed. Pictures are one of the things that cannot be recreated. I would definitely express your unhappiness about things, and ask them to make up for it by upgrading you album and throwing in extra prints. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what else they could do for you at this point - it SUCKKKKKKKKKS completely, but maybe someone else has another idea.

We also didn't do a must take list and some things that we wanted were left out. What I am doing, however, is asking our photog to go through the 'reject' shots-- the ones that didn't make the cut for our proof set-- to see if there are photos of people that were missing. For us, it was mostly shots of people (and not things) that were missing.

Sorry that you are in that situation. I hope you get some restitution!

eta for grammar.

we had an issue with a vendor. I spoke with the owner (while I was hysterical crying) the day of my wedding. At that point he knew there were a lot of things wrong. He tried to fix some of the issues, but in the mean time screwed up others and when we got to the hall other things were not right either. I expected the vendor to call me regarding this stuff, and seeing that I had posted on here I was not happy. In the end, since I got no response, I went straight to the BBB. they worked on the case and got a settlement.

I don't think that you need to go that far, seeing that they still are speaking with you. Something like the ring shot can actually be taken after the wedding, like ontop on your invite.. Also, My photog said if there was a pic I needed, they could still frame my video and print it out, its not the highest quality, which means you can't make it more then a 4x6 or maybe a 5x7 but at least you will get some of the things that were missed.

I'm sorry you have to go through this and I hope it all works out in the end.

Re: How did you handle issues w/ vendors after your wedding?

i had a HUGE problem with my videographer not showing up. apparently he was in a car accident and they couldn't send the back-up till about 6:00 PM (after ceremony and cocktail hour) and he at first was pretty much a jerk about it and offered back 375, but after a few threats and having a friend (who's a lawyer) look at the contract, i got everything except for $300. after all said and done, i think vendors really try to play on your emotions (like they'll lowball you and stuff, especially since it has to do with a wedding and plus, we're girls (s u c k s , but true)).
ny friend told me that i could have probably sued him and gotten more than what i took, like compensation for damages (never being able to see my ceremny on video), but in the end, i didnt feel it was worth the stress and time to go through all that.

just read the contract very carefully before you go so you can quote from it!

Our photographer got many beautiful photographs but it would have been nice if got a beautiful shot of our wedding invitation and our wedding bands. Hey, my sister in law has a background in photography. So, I can always ask her to take care of those photos.

We had a HUGE problem with our photographer. Our proofs are unacceptable. They also went out of business while I was on my honeymoon, so of course lots of brides (and the state of NY...) have an issue with them. The NYS Attorney General's Office has been taking care of them now.

I was also a little disappointed in my DJ, but I never said anything. I intended to call after our honeymoon & just say that I didn't feel I got the service I was expecting, but I got too wrapped up in the photographer drama & I ended up never calling. I didn't have a huge problem. The DJ was still good. I just expected better.

I would definitely set up a meeting to hear their side of the story. Bring your contract with you.

Be firm and have a speech prepared.

They can't do anything to the rest of your package just because they get mad at you, so I don't think that you have anything to lose.

Sorry that you werent' happy w/all of your pics. I was 100% unhappy w/my florist. They screwed up everything and my bk immediately turned brown. I complained on the phone and in writing and I received a reimbursement for my bk.

i had an issue with my flowers.. things didnt go as we discussed and i got a lot of the 'dont worry about we got it all under control during our final meeting'..

they came out okay i just expected a lot more from them and maybe creating the picture i gave them for my ceremony set up - flower wise..they went ahead to creat what they liked versus the picture i gave them.. my MOH boq was suppose to be different than the others and it wasn't and so on.. but that day i didnt let it phase me. I just wanted to let them know how i felt. i didnt ask for any $$ back it was just the point and the fact that we went over things and it didnt make it to that day..

anyways.. i did the mistake of posting a mini review just after the wedding and within minutes someone read my post and rushed to call the vendor before i even had a chance to call them so within minutes i received a call from them..we sorted it all out and its done - my point was made and i was just left as the unhappy customer..
