How do you feel about bad customer service?
would it affect your going to that establishment?
It sounds b!tchy but for me yes it does, ESPECIALLY in certain sectors like doctor's offices. This came up because I just changed my physical therapist because I couldn't deal with the front desk staff of the one I used to go to.
The Doctor was great (love her because she is young and funny and tells you straight as it is about whatever is going on with your health) btu her staff/...she didnt hire them but doesnt change they were there and after dealing with them for a few weeks 2x a week, (and making complaints)I had had it.
So I had the doc keep me as a patient but refer me toanother rehabilitation center for myshoulder/neck issues.
Why?
• RUDE (the staff will see you standing to check in and continue on their personal calls on their CELLPHONES for 20 minutes before snapping their gum and rolling their eyes at you as they say “I have to go. SOMEONE is here.” Hang up and then ask you “YES?”)
• Incompetent: I call in the morning to confirm my appointment (because I know they previously forget to confirm me and they say ok. I get home and receive a nasty message on my VM at home saying they cancelled my appointment because I never called them to confirm. HELLO! This has happened 3 times mind you.)
• Uninformative: I waited 3 weeks to find out if my insurance covered the MRI and they said they’d get beck to me. After the third week I asked as I was walking out the door, just as an aside (mind you it took me 20 minutes to get all wrapped up with paying my invoices and all of that so she could have spoken up BEFORE all she saw was the back of my head.) and the girl on her cell, snapped her gum and said, “Yea you were denied.” I lost it asking WHY she didn’t tell me before and I was like.. ”Its 6:30pm!@ I AM SURE you didn’t find out JUST now because I have been here 20 minutes!” I just got an eye roll and a gum snap. I wanted to smack her.
A friend of mine says it doesn’t matter but that’s one thing I am anal about because I worked in retail/customer service for years before I moved into the corporate arena and I was ALWAYS a good employee in terms of being helpful to customers/clients. I was always offered management positions because of that skill and it’s a skill I honed because it was my JOB. I can’t stand when people don’t take pride in their work and I guess that’s how I feel about bad customer service. If you don’t know, just say you don’t know, but do NOT be rude or inconsiderate, especially if you’re working with patients who are worried about their health.
