How do you feel about meat cleavers???

Ok I know this is a random question but I was talking about it with DH last night! Our knife set did not come with a cleaver but DH wants one. I personally do not think we will use it and find them a bit scary! Let me know what you think!!!

we have one and we barely ever use it, dh likes to bring it out when we are having a bbq, i think he thinks he looks cool

Meat cleaver no Beaver Cleaver yes. Sorry I am not of any help I don't murder people so I don't have one but I liked the topic .

a good chef's knife is all you need, cleavers are only used for hacking which is useful for breaking a breast bone but you have shears to do that now.

It came with our set...I have yet to use it and have honestly never seen anyone use it.

dh uses our all the time and he loves it. we're vegetarians by the way - he likes chopping veggies with it. (it's a japanese one though so it's a bit smaller and less scary looking than traditional meat cleavers).
