How do you find scrapbooking parties

How do you find scrapbooking parties

in you area, or somewhere close.

I have never scrapbook before, BUT really want to do it, I love pics and always have plenty. and this is just something up my alley.
but would love to meet with group every week or so to keep me on track, you now it can get when you are home sometimes everything gets in your way.

I have no idea how to find scrapbooking groups/parties if there is any in my area.

so if you girls know of anyway to find them let me know. I tryed online but no luck, but may be doing wrong.

my GF's SIL is a consultant for Creative Memories. She does Scrapbooking parties in your house. I just had one and Suzanne came. FM me if you want more info. She also gives workshops in her home.

there is a group on Yahoo groups called NYSEScrappers. do a search in YAHOO under groups and it will come up. That group is only for NY scrappers and its mostly LI gals. I have meet quite a few of the ladies and they are great!! There are always local crops and many of the ladies are consoltants for various scrapbooking companies.

NYSEScrappers
and it says not found

does anyone know if there's a scrapbook supply store on the Island somewhere?
I know Michaels has a decent selection, but I wonder if there's a specialty store nearby?

Here is a link to the NYSEScrappers website. its not very useful but it does list the stores on LI except for the one in Stoneybook.

what's with all the stores being out in Suffolk?! Don't any scrappers live in Nassau?

As far as the stores being in Suffolk...that has been the biggest complaints from the gals. I just hear of a store that opened in Cold Spring Harbor (is that Nassau???). I think the official opening is not for a week. I will try and get some info in it if you would like.

Yep, CSH is on the border close to Suffolk, but it's still Nassau!

Close to my heart is primarily for Rubber Stamping and that is a WHOLE other addiction for me!!! LOL...no wonder my mom and i have to have our own room for all our craft supplies!!!!
