How do you handle gift giving for someone who's getting married, but never RSVP'd to your wedding?

How do you handle gift giving for someone who's getting married, but never RSVP'd to your wedding?

any thoughts?

One of DH's friends just proposed. So, his parents invited us to the e-party that they're having for him.

When we got married, we invited this guy with a guest (but not his parents) and he never even sent us an RSVP.

DH just kept asking and asking until the guy finally said that he couldn't get the day off. So, he didn't attend, but he also didn't send a card or anything.

How would you handle gift giving in this situation?

Gosh, now that the tables are turned, I wonder if he realizes that he was a pain in the neck with regard to our wedding...

Are you going to the engagement party? If you are, then I would definately bring a gift. If you aren't going to attend, be the better person, RSVP no and I wouldn't send anything.

I would do what you normally would regardless. If you go to the party give a gift and if you do not give a small token acknowledging the engagment. Some people (I hate to say it esp. guys) are oblivious to proper etiquite. He most likely didn't do it intentionally. Be the better person and do what you normally would.

I think Men in general are clueless. I could totally seeing my DH doing this if he were single. I would give a gift If you go the engagement party. If not, maybe a modest gift.
