How Long Before The Gown Turns?

I'm a mega slacker when it comes to preserving my gown and veil. It's sitting in its garment bag in my old bedroom at my mom's. Have I ruined it? I've unzipped it at my parents just to visit it and it looks fine. It smells odd from being in a bag, though. (not exactly like the Tiffany perfume I wore that day!) ha ha
