How long did it take for you to get your new passport with your name change?
Yeah, I know they tell you it takes about 6 weeks for a passport renewal, but what was your personal experience with your renewal after your name change?
When my husband applied for his, it took him two weeks, so I know it varies. I'm just worried because I am leaving the country in 38 days!
**UPDATE** I just called Passport Services and they said it was okay that I didn't expedite it because if I feel like it's getting too close to my trip and I need to expedite it I can always call them and pay over the phone to rush it.

I was wondering the same thing....
I did hear they have more applications then they ever had due to the law change and they are months behind, but not sure of the reality of it.
I'm sure if you let them know you were traveling out of the country that they will put yours first.
Did you do the expedited? How long ago did you send it?

Um... I just mailed it today. I didn't pay the $60 to expedite it. I probably should have.

Hi Ladies - I really need to update my passport too! My DH and I are going to Mexico in early March. How do I go about doing so?.
I also need to change my license, do I need to fill out forms before heading to DMV.

I ordered mine day after thanksgiving and received ours btw xmas and new year's.

We applied for passports on 1/2 and paid the $60 fee to expedite them and we had them in about a week.
