How long did you take until you picked your album pics?
Just wondering how long everyone had their proofs before they sat down with their photographer to chose the final album pictures? Just wondering since my photogapher is in NY, I live in TX, my parents will be in FL until April, and husbands parents live in IN!! Trying to figure out when everyone will have a chance to see them and pick their photos for the album.

I think the answer will vary greatly. Your distance is a huge factor in this. I will have my proofs 3 months before doing my album, but I only live 30 minutes from my photographer. If I was in another state it would wait till I was home again.

I've been married for over 6 months and we have the enlargements, but have yet to finalize and order the album! I'm really taking my time with it. It took us 2 months just to go through the proofs and select the best.

I will have my proofs 2.5 months before my appointment to start working on my albums. I am only about 30 mins or so from my photographer and my parents. DH's parent live an hour away and picked their pictures over the holidays.

took us what seemed like forever.
We're in CA and both sets of parents are in NY. My mom picked hers out right away, but his mom didn't do it until last week. So it was about 8 months.
One good thing about it, our choice of pictures changed somewhat as we spent more time with the, and its definitely changed for the better. But I was thrilled to finally be able to place the order!

I have yet to do my album! There are so many pics...I just don't know where to begin!

We only had 5 months from our wedding date to do album, enlargements, etc. We didnt know this until after the wedding. We would of like to of had some more flexibility with the time. I would say from the time I got my proofs which was end of Sept, we did our album a month and a half later.

I got my proofs back about 6 weeks after my wedding (delayed because of 9/11), which made it around Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, so we didn't go do the album until the last week of January (2002) and then went back 4 more times after that because we couldn't agree, so they probably didn't start production on it until mid-end Feb. This is why I still don't have it!!! But I just called and it should be ready by next week.

Our time to choose photos for albums was not dictated or limited by the photographer or studio. Rather, we had a similar situation you - we lived in CA, my parents are in NY and DH's parents are in FL.
My studio mailed my proofs to me right after the wedding. I looked at them for 2 weeks, and then sent them to my Mom in NY, so that she could pick her album pics. When she was finished, my Mom mailed the proofs to my MIL in FL, and she picked hers. We didn't get our proofs back from everyone until 6 months after the wedding!
We made our enlargements and album order almost seven months to the day after the wedding. We weren't able to proof the album pages until almost 7 months after that.

I might be the only hasty bride, at least that is what Lia calls me. We got married in Aug, did our album in Sept and it will be back and completed next month...YIPEE!!!

It's been 3 1/2 months and we are just now thinking about starting to pick out pictures we like. Our photog suggested we wait until after the holidays b/c of the back log they had at the time we would prob get our album faster if we wait. Plus after the wedding, HM, TY's and then the holidays, it wasn't a big priority to us.

We got married in August, and we didnt do our album till February. We procrastinated, but it was worth the wait. We took our time.

Wedding: 4/28/01
We took them to Arizona in September '01 to show my parents, then in November, I got a job in NY (we were living in MA) and hubby and I had a commuter marraige between states for the next 6 months while we bought a house and he made arrangements to transfer his job. So... we finally gave the proofs to our photographer 10 months after the wedding.
