How long does it take until you get used to your new name?

I've been married for a little over 2 months now, and I am still completely NOT used to my new last name. It feels weird to say it, hear it, and write it! I've had to rip up a few checks because I've signed my maiden name by accident! I totally don't identify with it yet.
I assume this will pass in time, but how much longer can I expect to feel like a foreigner?!

I still feel that way too. I am adjusting to it very slowly. A lot of my checks look like chicken scratch b/c I start to write my maiden name and then scratch my marrid name on top of it

It is taking longer than I expected. It took me quite awhile to develop a signature.

I will be married for 6 months in 2 weeks and a few days ( ) and I still am not used to hearing or writing it!

I got used to when I was in the hospital after Damien was born, everyone called Mrs.

It took me a good 4 months or so - I really didn't want to give up my maiden name, but once I adjusted to my new name, I really love it! It's shorter, easier to spell and pronounce

I'm pretty used to it already, actually

but at work I did introduce myself to someone the other day as Jennifer MaidenName. Only natural.

It took me a while to get used to it too. Every now and again I slip up and begin writing my maiden name. I almost introduced myself to someone the other day as David's girlfriend instead of his wife!


I guess some habits die hard.

Sunday is my 1 year anniversary and I'm still not used my new name although it does not sound as weird anymore. It takes some time.

After 7 months I'm finally used to my new last name.

It took a while to get used to signing things with my new name but now I'm OK.

it took me almost a year...

I think b/c a lot of my old students would say hi to me and come in and chat and use my maidan name...

I have incorporated my maidan initial in my signiture...it just happened naturally...I would start and then realize the new name

I have only been married for like 3 weeks, but I hate Mrs D., Michell D is fine, and Ms. D is good, but everytime someone says Mrs. D... I think of his mom!!!!

I think im gonna have a rough time.

To the outside world I am Veronica L. Mrs. L whatever...

I changed my ID, my SS card, my bank account name, the works..

At work I am still Veronica O. and sign as such with all my professional designations.

So for now Im sorta adding his name to the end of mine when I remember to and end up having my name, my maiden middle initial, my maiden name and his name. It's sorta confusing.

Im still trying to get use to it...At work when my clients asked me my name I still say Miss T....so hopefully I can get use to MrS A...soon

I am having serious issues with this, at work I sign my new name but say my old one.
