lol, same thing with us. We planned on keeping it 30K. It went over by 13k. I think if we did more research and networking, we would had been able to cut back a lot since we had a small wedding. The most we spent on were def the rentals and catering since it was an outdoor wedding. Looking back, it's crazy how we spent equivalent to a year's salary.

my budget was set at 25,000. i doubled it after all is said and done, but honestly it was worth EVERY dolloar

We were under our budget by about $2k... but it still sickens me that we spent almost $20k and that doesn't include the RH or photographer!

We never really set a budget (big mistake) but I figured we'd spend around $50k. DH and I had an excel sheet going (which didn't include all the small items) and 3 weeks before the wedding we were at $67k (including the honeymoon).

I'm probably in the same neighborhood including HM, let me pull the spreadsheet up....

we pretty much stuck to budget. We had a bank account and we were only allowed to use the money from there, and at the end we had 4,000 left over!

We didn't start out with a budget, but sort of had an idea of one AFTER we booked all of our vendors. But our 'budget' did not include my gown, alterations, shoes, hair & makeup (we paid for my MOH and BM as well), accessories, and it DEFINITELY did not include our honeymoon (which was $13k). We went over budget largely because little expenses kept coming up, and initially we'd forgotten to account for gratuities and vendor meals! It all worked out in the end though. I'm guessing we had to add about $5k more to the overall bottom line.

We went way over our original budget but it was based on about half of the guest list we ended up with...In the end we spent a lot more then I wanted but DH 'needed a big wedding' and I really cannot complain b/c I am in school and he paid for the majority of the wedding expenses.

We didnt really have a set budget but I kept all the numbers in my head... I cant believe we spent as much as we did... but I would do it again in a second!

I had budget 25,000 and went about 10,000 over budget. (This included everything even honeymoon)
It was okay though because we saved more than we had thought and my parenet helped)

Same here! Big mistake especially with the recesstion. I got caught up in the moment and DH will never let me hear the end of it. I still enjoyed my day though!
