They told me it was between $1 - $3 per person, depending on the service. My dad tipped the guy $2 pp that we had there, so I guess somewhere around 450, since we had 220 people there.

We had about 100 people and I think my dad tipped him about $150

more more more - one of the head guys @ JT told me it was normally $3-4 pp.... Pete & I got a little nauseous about this one!

our tip for the maitre' d was a set price that we paid up front with our final balance. It was not based on the number of people. We paid $175.

I think we tipped her $250-300. We had 225 guests - she was great, but we didn't have any money left over for more than that

We gave him $250 and we had 111 people (supposed to have a minimum of 125). He was so attentive and wonderful! I have also heard that you should tip anywhere from $1.50 to $3.00 per person.

We gave $350 and had 140 guests (she was awesome and took care of everything and deserved every penny!)

Lisa - The guy at JT told me the same thing. We had 220 people at our wedding and he 'suggested' we tip the maitre'd about $800!!! He said that the tip is shared with the rest of the wait staff and doesn't all go to the maitre'd. I asked him 'Then what is the 20% service charge for'!

We ended up giving him about $3-400.

We tipped $500 for 175 people. JT suggested that we tip between $800-$1,000. That was insane!!
