How much time do you have for TY cards?

What is the etiquette for sending out thank you cards? When should they be sent out?

I don't know what the rules say. I wanted a photo card, but that would take me about three months just to recieve (having to wait for proofs etc). DH said his family will just not understand having to wait so long- they will consider it rude. So I ordered TY's from Ebay, and will send them out as soon as I recieve them.

every website that I checked had different times, some say 1 month, others say 2 months... we waited for ours from Duet so they just went out this past week...

I sent mine out in three weeks, but that is because I got them back so quickly from my photographer. I have heard that the time frame is three months to send them out.

I don't really think there is a time limit. I say under 6 months is good.

some books even say 2 weeks

I think the 'equation' is: 2 weeks after you return from your honeymoon.

The norm from etiquette books is 2-3 months

i got married in august I do not even have my thank you cards back yet from the photographer. Due to circumstances beyond anyones control he has been delayed so I am at 3 months right now I would say by the time I get them they should go out around the 6 month mark. lol nothing i can do. But I think 2-3 months is about right people keep hinting to the fact that I have yet to send thank you cards.

i'm hoping to get mine out by the end of the month. it just hard writing the same thing in all the cards

We had ours out by 2 mos. Any longer than 6 IMO is not good.

I have a friend that wrote on the plane on the way to her HM.

I think it is 2 weeks after your HM if no picture, 2-3 months after if you are including a picture.

Mine were in the 3-4 month range, b/c the photographer forgot to tell me the pictures were in.

Before 3 months is what is standard etiquette now, picture or no picture.

I had mine out 2 mos and 3 days (w/ picture) - we mailed them on the way to the airport for the HM

I had a huge delay with my photographer. i had a colage made for our TY, and the photographer was a bit tardy.
They have been in for 3 weeks and i havent picked them up. The only day i really have time is Sunday and they are closed But now i get out early tomorrow so i am definitly going to pick them up and start writing this weekend. I am embarressed that it has taken this long, but atleast everyone will have a nice pic of us

I'm not sure what the etiquette is, but I would like to send mine out by the end of the year. If I were doing picture TY's, I would wait. I ordered monogram TY cards.

We didn't get our photo cards back from our photographer until a week ago, I wrote them all in a week but we are now past 4 months. Out of all the weddings I have been to I have gotten most around 6 months. I would have liked to have had them done earlier but it was beyond my control.

I have always been told no later than 3 months

I took 5 months. I think anything over 6 months is pushing it.
