How nervous were you before the ceremony?

I think that is going to be the hardest part because everyone will be looking at us. The rest should be a breeze.

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

I wasnt nervous at all!

The 2 days before the wedding I was so relaxed I felt like that Saturday was just another day. I felt like i SHOULD have been nervous but wasnt.

The few hours before the wedding I was stressed because we were running late because of some annoying family members and I didnt get to have the leisurely photos I wanted.

But when I got to the church and I saw everyone there and I was standing at the end of the aisle, I was so happy and excited that nerves were never an issue.

not nervous... but so excited.. i just couldnt wait to get the day started and walk down that aisle... i was 10 min. early to the church!!!

however, the days and weeks before that... complete WRECK! I am so happy now that it is all over, and can be back to my (somewhat) normal self!!!

ENJOY THE DAY!!!! That is the most important thing... you must try and sit back, and soak it all in!!!!!

I was so nervous... I was shaking a little. I was so scared about everyone looking at me, plus nobody has seen me in a dress before except my husband which was for the prom in 1995, so that made me really nervous. But as soon as I got down the aisle to my husband, he held my hand (I held his really, really tight), and that was it... I wasn't nervous anymore. From there on in... it was so much fun. Neither one of us stopped smiling all night!

I thought the worst part for me would be before walking down the isle but surprisingly I wasnt nervous at all!!!

I wasn't too nervous either. As soon as everything was dropped off at the Watermill, and there was nothing left to do (which was a few days before), I was so calm, happy and relaxed. Before the ceremony, my father was late and cut it really close, but even that didn't bother me as much as would think it would. Just enjoy yourself and have fun!! I wasn't even nervous standing in front of everyone, when I usually am.

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

amazingly I was not nervous at all. the night before the ceremony we were out (at the place we met) just for a little bit with some of our out of town guest. Right as I was leaving, my FH hugged me, and said, tomorrow, when those doors open, and you hear that music, you walk down that aisle smiling, with your head held up high, because I am there, waiting for you at the end, and I will take care of you for the rest of your life. That's all I could think of the next day, and I was beaming and smiling all the way down. We memorized our vows instead of repeating after the priest, so I was a little nervous about that, but not so much!

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

For me the church was the element I was most nervous about....in fact my sister and I did a shot of vodka in the limo before the ceremony to calm our nerves! She was nervous too about walking down the aisle alone as MOH - it's probably one of the longest church aisles on LI (st. Rose)! It's a total build-up being in the limo watching your guests enter the church as you wait there watching everyone- then they close the church doors, and I was alone in the limo, while everyone else gets out and forms the line in the lobby - my dad finally came to get me-- the bride is the last one to enter the church .....i dont know, you feel like the star everyone came to see...its scary and exciting.. after the ceremony ended I felt such a relief in the receiving line though and couldnt wait for the reception.....

I wasn't nervous at all. I was very calm and cool. The videographer and photographer even commented that I was one of the calmest brides they had ever seen. I was so ready to be married, and I was so excited to see everyone there.

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

I was very nervous the day before.
Was getting my hair done by the lady that cuts my hair at that time...she worked out of her home.
I showed up w. my mil and no one was home!
Went to by MOH home and she beeped the hairdressers daughter to get her mom home.
She had not turned over her calendar- (it was july 1) so she didnt see the appt !!!
oh boy!! But I was calm and just thinking of places locally that I could walk in to and have them do an updo.
The rehearsal dinner was that night...at the hotel in Woodbury...so there was so last min running around the house putting things together...and off we went to get to the hotel. Had problems getting thru to the hotel to let them know I was running a bit late and please let mt guests know- so that got me more steamed...and I called my mil and she hadn;t even left bklen yet...and she was home over 3 hours before me!!!
When I got the hotel, many guests were already there and gretting me at the door. Was trying to be hospitalable while a bit aggravated that I wasn't settled in already and GREETING them! Then I saaw why I couldnt get thru to the hotel. There was only one clerk on duty- a college student that must have taken the SHORT BUS TO SCHOOL..he could not answer the phone and check in guests at the same time- so he ignored the phone!!!!

Anyway- the caterer did a great job and my SIL helped organize the meeting room and we had a great rehearsal dinner- with no rehearsing.. argh..and then my MOH and I decided i best leave my guests, go to my room and settle down.
Prob was I couldnt relax at all. and I had a hard tio me sleeping...my stomach was full of butterflies...but the next morning! I was very calm and just excited to get things going!!!

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

I usually get very nervous being in front of a large crowd (the thought of giving a speech makes my stomach turn) but I was not nervous walking down that aisle.

I was so calm and happy - everything up until that moment had gone smoothly (flowers arrived, photographer was on time, etc.) so I just went with the flow.

A few weeks before my wedding I was talking to one of my friends about how nervous I was. She had gotten married 2 months before me. She said to me, 'Walk down that aisle like you own it' and I said that in my head just as I took my first step down the aisle...

It's your day. You look beautiful, you feel beautiful...enjoy every minute of it!!!

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

My hubby & I decided to see eachother & before & i'm glad we did, because I cried when i saw him. We got married @ our reception location so I was hiding out upstairs in the bridal suite while the guests were being seated. When I came out & looked over the balcony one of my hubby's very funny & perverted business associates just came out of the men's room, he looked up & saw me for the first time(in the dress) & said'Nice Rack!'
I was laughing so hard, I thought I might be laughing as i went down the aisle.
I was totally ready to be married & couldn't wait!
You'll be fine-it's your day!

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

I was a total mess before the actual wedding. My mother started off the day by screaming at me because I wasn't going to be home to help her get dressed because I was going to be at the salon getting my makeup/hair done and she thought I was being selfish by not helping her?!?

We get to the salon (three hours before the photographer was supposed to be at my brother's house) and the woman assigned to us is running late. They did my MOH and bridesmaid and right before they start with me, this 90 year old buzzard walk in (without an appointment) and throws a hissy that she wants to get her hair colored before they do me! They get into an argument because she feels that since she's a regular customer, she should go first! They start on her and I'm standing there literally two hours before my wedding with no hair/makeup. They are 'rushing' to get through me, while the old fart is in the corner complaining that she's not getting enough attention and this woman walks over to me and starts making small talk. I didn't answer her because (1.) I was ****ed, (2) I was freaking out because it's now 20 minutes before my photographer is going to show up at my brother's and I'm 15 minutes FROM there and not dressed, ready, nothing. She turns to my MOH and says 'Wow, she's a nasty *****, isn't she!'. We rush out of there (I didn't leave a tip) and we're driving down the road when my MOH realizes I'm dragging my veil down the block (outside of the car door).

My SIL did her best to **** me off before we got to the church (during bridal party photos at my brother's house). She was makeing obvious comments about the fact that I wanted ONE picture taken with just my brothers (sort of like a littel sister grows up kind of thing). There she was in the background commenting to her 10 year old daughter 'That's right Heather, WE'RE not in the pictures because we're not FAMILY'. I wanted to *****-slap her! Then she started in because I wanted someone to go outside and find out what the deal was with the limo's (they were 45 minutes early and I didn't want to run into overtime issues). When I stepped into the limo, it was almost like a movie where the sides of your vision become blurred and you can see people talking but not hear/comprehend what they're saying. We get to the church and the limo guy starts going off because DH's SIL parked RIGHT in front of the church and expected ME to park down the block (because she didn't want to get wet). He went into the church, called out her name and gave her hell about moving her car. The car's get moved and I'm walking into the church. Here comes DH's SIL complaining to me about having to move from HER spot to accomodate ME. I didn't even hear her because I was completely zoning out. They start lining us up and I was like 'What are we supposed to do?'. Someone tells me, walk down the isle, you're getting married! It felt like the floor dropped out from underneath me. I started to panic and begged the limo driver to get me out of there. You can see in the video I was having a total anxiety attack in the back of the church. I nearly passed out on the way up the isle. After the ceremony, I was okay until we got to the hall. My 'bridal attendants' kept shoving me back into the bridal room, telling me that I could not go into the cocktail hour because it wasn't proper. Meanwhile I was starving and wanted to see my guests. After about the third shove-in, I went off and yelled at my bridal attendants to back off. My father came in and told everyone to get out. I cried like a big baby on his shoulder and then I felt fine. Bridezilla or not, I needed to have some sort of emotional release because I was stretched to my limit.

Shamee that sounds awful, how did your dh handle it, was he at least supportive???

Re: How nervous were you before the ceremony?

He was nervous as well. It looked like (on the video) that someone had wacked him over the head with a tree branch. When we met at the front of the church, both of our expresssions read 'Who are you?!?'. It's too funny. He really didn't know what was going on because he was busy taking pictures with his family while I was having my little bridal breakdown. I didn't tell him about the garbage that his SIL started because frankly, she starts something new everyday. Why should my wedding day be any different?
