I am a believer- an inspirational spinoff

Ladies- I dont know if you remember me stating in my 'afterlife' post that I have never had visits or dreams from my mom since she passed.. well, 6 years later & I got my wish..

background: I am the first in my family to have a Masters Degree.. First in my ENTIRE family.. aunts, uncles, cousins.. on BOTH SIDES. My mother always told me i needed to get my masters and how she wished she was able to go back to school. She eventually did go back to Suffolk for a few classes, but never got a full out college degree. At my moms wake my uncles wife said 'through Heather, Carol will achieve her dream of graduating college'...


So here I am now, just got my degree on 1/31/08 and I put in a request for my diploma to be mailed to me. Weeks later, I'm still waiting for that damn paper. The whole time I've been so depressed because I wish she could be here to celebrate it with me.

Fast forward to last night- I had a dream in which I was talking to my mom and I said 'Mommy, I have something to show you. I am so proud of myself' and I showed her my diploma and the two of us hugged and cried hysterically out of pure happiness. I woke up this morning and just had a feeling of absolute happiness & I didn't know why.. I am NOT a morning person. I never feel at peace like I did this morning. While brushing my teeth I remembered my dream. I remembered how nice it felt and all day it was totally bittersweet.
So heres the kicker............................




I came home from work today and what is sitting on my kitchen table?? My diploma.. a month & 1 crazy dream later I got my damnn diploma.

I am now a firm believer in the afterlife & I finally got a visit from my Mommy..

I've been home for an hour now and I'm still crying..

Wow that was emotional and inspirational !! I am so sorry for your loss but happy that she came through to you in your dreams and that is so wierd that you received your diploma today !! Which by the way Congrats!!

Awwww! That was DEFINITELY your mom visiting you!!! When i have dreams about my departed relatives I always wakes up in a crazy good mood...and then remember the dream & realize why!! Congrats on your Masters too!!! See your Mom knew you'd be getting it in the mail today!!!

That's really awesome and so touching! I am a believer - how wonderful to have had that moment to share with your mom, even if it was in your dream!!!!!

Aww that is such a beautiful story. Now I am hysterical crying. I know how you feel, I lost my Mom a little less then a year ago and I wish that I could see her again.

wow, its amazing when things like that happen, and everything just seems to fall into place.

I like this story. I am a firm believer n a higher power and life of some sort after death so these kinds of stories always help reaffirm my belliefs.

I am so glad you to sharethat moment with your mom, even if it was in your dream!!!!!
