I am fuming right now

I am fuming right now

I had invited a couple over for Saturday night a few weeks ago. Well the last few weeks have been super busy and I haven't been able to catch up - plus I have been working late a lot so I decided to postpone them coming over. Plus we have my niece's b-day party that weekend etc etc. Something every weekend.

So, when I told my DH that I postponed because I wanted a quiet weekend and that I was really tired, he got rally mad and said I should have asked him to reschedule (why is this a 2 person decision - the girl is my friend not his - we know them through ME). NOW this is what pissed me off - he says ' I don't understand how you can be so tired - thats no exscuse'. WHAAAAT!! Here's my schedule during the week:

Get up at 540am. Walk the dog. Come in and shower, get dressed, feed dog etc, leave at 715. Deal with masses of crowds at Penn Station. Walk to work. Deal with morons all day and do the job of 3 people. Leave the office between 6-630. Get home at 8. Eat dinner. Do a load of laundry. Some ironing. Walk the dog. It goes on and on. By the time I go to bed at 11 I am dead to the world.

I am so frustrated I dont even know what to say!!! How can he not understand this. I feel like he has no compassion

Men seriously do not have a clue - I swear they think that some sort of magical fairy comes in and takes care of everything!
My DH is the same way - he doesn't get it.

I have to agree with everyone...men have no clue. They usually don't do half the work we do because we, or at least I, get stuck with most of the housework. My favorite line from my husband when I don't want to cook, 'That's okay, we'll have Cheerios.' Yeah, how about YOU cooking a meal since you get home before I do!

Re: I am fuming right now

My DH likes to walk around the house and say a woman works from sun to sun but Frankie's work is never done. Well I have finally had enough of that, though he does work hard now that I can't move around much so I just biffed him in the back of the head everytime he says it, I must say it makes me feel better

He is so obnoxious about what is considered 'work' and what is not. I can't stand it, when he gets like this. Before we went to sleep I made us talk about and he half-heartedly apologized
Another thing that annoyed me is that he said he cooks all the time (which to ME, it seemed as if he enjoys it because he is good at it). Well I can't help it right now that I get home so late..and if it bothers him so much he should have said so!

Jenn maybe it is time to sit down not at bed time and map out again exactly who is responsible for what and make it fair 50-50. Now that you own your own home the chores and quantity is different and he needs to know that! And again if that doesn't work I truly suggesting the biffing works great for my DH!

Sorry Jen,
I know exactly how you feel! Craig is the same way - he does work late to be fair, but he doesn't leve fo rwork until 2 or 3 every day! I'm up at 6:30, shower, get ready for work, also deal with stupid crowds at Penn, then on to my thankless job for the next 8 hours, where I once again return to the moron crowd at Penn, train home -bus to my house, then at 7 finally walk through the door, change into comfy clothes, take the dog out, feed him, relax for about an hour, play with dog, take him for a walk, 9:30 back home and start dinner. Then when I fall asleep on the couch at 11 watching him playing video games, Craig gets annoyed and asks ME what I'm so tired for!!!

Meanwhile, he only helps out around the house after I stop doing it or nag him, and he alwasy complains about how tired he is - meanwhile we keep the same schedules, so W T F are you whining about?? UGH _ MEN!!!! I lvoe him to death, but he is so frustrating with things like this sometimes!!
