i am so grossed out right now...i may throw up

I just pulled out wad after wad after wad of hair and soap scum out of our shower drain! Ewww ughhh nasty!

What I don't get it this house is brand new...we were the first to live in it and I have cleaned the drain out twice already (both time nasty) but this was the worst! I mean there were layers of dried soap down there that I literally had to chip away! I don't get it...why does this happen and is there any way to avoid it? I just poured draino down there and boiling hot water but I know in a few months it will be bad again!

We have a stand up shower (tub is separate) and I feel its so hard not to let hair go down there! Ughhh I am just so repulsed and I also cleaned all the bathrooms and a bunch of other dirty chores and feel so yucky! I hate this domestic sh1t!

i don't know but if you find a way let me know. I also have a stand up shower, and have to clean it out often.

I use some gel thing, ill find out the name of it.

Dh said have to go to the plumbing supply and purchase this product called THRIFT it is a red and white bottle.
You have to run the water real HOT for 5 min than you pour this stuff down the drain for another 5 min and let it sit. It should do the trick

I have one of those plastic things that catches the hair and chunks of soap. It works GREAT!! They even have disposable ones but I am too cheap to get those so I use the regular one and bleach it once in a while. I put it in before I take a shower then clean it and put it away bc DH doesnt like it
