I am soo mad and I dont get this...

Has anyone ever heard of this???

This IS NOT in my contract but I received it when we got our proofs in November.

I didnt pay attention to it until now...I thought it was nothing and now I am fuming..

It says that 3 months after the wedding (NOvember) which would make it February there is a 25.00 per month charge...until we go back to make our albums! My question is...WHY????

Anyone elses photographer do this??? I cant understand why and this was not in my contract before hand...can they do this?!?! Why would I have to pay extra when I have already paid everything??????????? I have to pay them to hold them? I dont understand...anyone have had this policy?!?!?!

If it's not in your contract you shouldn't have to pay it! Call them up!!

By mistake the assistant at the photog office gave us an old contract. This one stated the final payment was due when we placed our album order. THe NEW contract that we didnt sign said the final payment was due 45 days after we receive the proofs. When we received the invoice I called them and I explained what our contract stated and they said to forget about it.

ETS - that the longer it takes to place the order the more expensive it probably is for them and this is probably their way to get some of that money back

It was in my contract, and it was explained to my by my sales person. In our studio, they charge 18% per anum, believe it or not, some people take more than 2 or 3 months to get into making their album. I do think that is because if you don't place your album order on time, it can become accumulated work that adds up with the more recent weddings and other events they might do. For what I know several studios do such thing. I am having my appointment a month after I got my proofs, I want to do it ASAP so I get my album sooner than later. Good luck!

I have 60 days to make up my album. After that, the photographer charges me each month. I'm not sure how much.

I don't know how I really feel about it, to be honest.

There is definite pressure to get the album done...

I would owe them a fortune then - we still haven't met with them and it's been 10 months. I keep asking DH to work on it and all he does is nod and then nothing

it took me 8 months to pick out my album (due to the long distance and some family issues that came up preventing my MIL from picking her pictures).

I wasn't charged any fees.

It took me over 6 months to get around to making my album but I was not charged anything extra. I believe that some companies do this due to increasing costs of materials. For example, my SIL was married in 1995 and never got around to making her album (!) - She got nostalgic when we got our proofs and decided to pick it out now - almost 8 years later. The photographer, for obvious reasons, had to charge her additional fees. I say, though, if it isn't in your contract, then they shouldn't be able to charge you -

Out the photographer! I know one that does this and I think it is insane- after all you PAID money already for this album. I can see if there is an album company price increase but to just charge brides is insane!!!! Put this on the BHB board also- perhaps you will help another bride not fall into this trap.

Noreen, who is this photographer?? I have heard of something like this before, I think Verdi has some policy about time that you must come in and do your album. Verdi brides please confirm. I do not know if they charge a fee if you do not come in to do your album w/i that time frame. I think it is crazy to rush the couple. What if they don't have the funds, what if they are not ready. I hope you called and got a satisfactory answer. Why are they charging you anyway if you have the proofs

It's in my contract also, and I can understand why a larger studio would do this, for the same reasons stated above. Lots of albums to work on, they are trying to keep a work flow going. But, if it's not in your contract, they should BITE YOU!

I just dont see where they can do this..I understand what some of you have said but I still dont find it fair. There was a death in my family and although it happened in April and it was already 3 months after our wedding...it was the biggest reason we havent gone back yet. We paid a little over 5000.00!!!!!!! Why the hell should we owe more?!?!?!

And if some of you rememeber, we werent that happy with our pics or our video in the first place so it makes it even WORSE!!!!!!!!
